WARAKSA, Julia (b. 1998) is a Polish artist based in Antwerp, Belgium, working across archival practices, photography, bookmaking, sculpture and immersive installations. She is currently pursuing MA In Situ (2027) at the Royal Academy of Arts, Antwerp. Her artistic research focuses on the topics of collective memory, historical and interpersonal trauma and the ethics of representation. She further explores writing as an artistic practice, aiming to remove the singular authorial “I” – and, through rhythmic, chant-like and deliberately misconstrued language, seeks to replace it with a collective, allegorical voice.
